Simple Things That Make Me Happy

1. A warm shower on a cold morning to get the blood flowing.

2. Having every dish in the house clean and put away.

3. Having every piece of clothing in the house clean and put away.

4. Watching a favorite movie on the couch with the family.

5. Listening to my teenage son read aloud passages from the sports statistics book I have just given him.

I'm a middle aged woman doing the things that middle aged women do and trying not to beat myself up. I'm living the life I choose with the man I love, the grown up son who impresses me all the time, and the most adorable pup ever rescued from the euthanasia list. We live in the heat of the Southwest, where I regularly sweat through my Lane Bryant bras.

    Clean dishes and clothes also make me happy. My three daughters also make me happy 🙂

    I agree with you, when all clothes are on the right place, I feel good . And I like the first minutes of every morning, when I’m the only one in my kitchen. Just me and a cup of coffee :o)

    I love the first three. Having everything tidy and clean with new flowers and air freshener aplenty. My ideal productive Saturday morning!

    Listening to the teens in my life tell me funny stories (my own and their friends.) And all stories they tell are funny. Spring bulbs. Finishing a story or blog post. A walk with the cats and dog. A nice bottle of wine with my husband. Nothing too complicated – it is those little things that make the smiles.

    Right now, Crossing jobs off the work list, getting closer to staycation. Reading in a very hot tub. (Have never dropped a book in!) Meals out in restaurants and coffee klatches at my favourite café.
